Hamilton County Municipal Court a Model of Justice & Efficiency
When it comes to doling out justice, there is a big difference between Cuyahoga County in northeast Ohio and Hamilton County in southwest Ohio.
The contrast is at the municipal court level. That’s where traffic offenses and misdemeanor crimes are prosecuted, and where bail is set for felony suspects whose cases will be handled in common pleas courts.
Today, cleveland.com and The Plain Dealer take a look at the Hamilton County court system as part of Justice For All, a series that advocates for criminal justice reform. The series already has sparked broad-based reform efforts in Cuyahoga County, including some calls for consolidation of municipal courts.
